ABOUT ME

​

I have over 25 years of experience advising governments, industry associations, and private-sector institutions on international trade and economic policy, alongside a parallel career teaching and researching international economics and business. I have lived and worked in the United States, England, Jamaica, and Hong Kong, with additional time as a visiting researcher in the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Advisory & Consulting Experience

• Senior Trade Policy Consultant, Capitol Capital Group, 2014–2022

• Founder & Director,, MECACC–Western New England University Gulf Region Trade Project, 2014–2022 — an eight-year research and advisory program producing state- and country-level U.S. export analysis used in congressional briefings on U.S.–Gulf trade policy

• Advisor, Planning Institute of Jamaica, "Vision 2030: National Development Plan," 2007–2008

• Advisor, Jamaica/CARICOM Future Trade Relationship with the U.S., 2007

• Team member and co-leader, European Union Phare/ACE Programme, Project P96-6009R, 1998–1999

 

This work has involved collaborating with private and public sector institutions at the state, national, and international level; engaging print, television, and radio media on local, national, and international economic issues; organizing and chairing meetings and conferences; and writing and presenting research papers, keynote addresses, and roundtable panels. Teaching & Academic Leadership

Alongside this advisory work, I have taught international trade and international finance at the undergraduate and graduate level, and led the organization of degree programs and research projects.

I hold a PhD in Economics and an MA in Development Economics, both from the University of Leeds (England), and a BSc in Business Administration from Bryant University (USA).
